When Jesus was asked what to do to be born again, His answer was repeated three times John 3:15-18.
Some of Acts, in context, was to the Jews at that time who asked what do we do next (after cut to the heart) so they were told to repent and be baptized for the guilt of having the Messiah killed (they had just then believed Jesus is Messiah). The Gospel of John written for unbelievers (per John 20:31) never once mentioned “repent” or baptism as a condition for eternal life. In Acts 16:31, a Gentile jailer asked what to do to be saved and the answer was simply “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and you will be saved”.
